The Boys to Men project was established in Portadown in 2016 following a successful project in Ballycraigy Primary School that was set up in 2014.
The Boys to Men project is a timely and innovative approach to dealing in some way with one of the many challenges facing our schools by aiming to improve the life chances and aspirations of a very vulnerable group in our society. A team took lessons for Primary 7 boys to teach them a range of life skills including basic DIY, gardening, shoe polishing, basic cookery, handling money and setting goals and values.
In 2016 the project was launched in Edenderry Primary School and following the success here, it has been launched in a number of other Primary schools in Portadown.
